Who Makes John Deere Lawn Mowers?

Who Makes John Deere Lawn Mowers

As mentioned earlier, there is a common misconception that MTD manufactures John Deere mowers. Well, to some extent, this is true since MTD makes the low-end (non-commercial) John Deere tractors while John Deere mowers are made by John Deere–Delaware Company.

Going by history, the company, John Deere–Delaware Company, was founded by John Deere. The company specializes in the production of various types of machinery and heavy-duty equipment.

John Deere was born on February 7, 1804, in Rutland, Vermont, as the third son of William Rinold Deere and Sarah Yates Deere.  Shortly after his birth, John Deere’s father - William Rinold Deere, died at sea while the mother - Sarah Yates Deere, raised him.

At the age of 17, John Deere became an apprentice and learned the blacksmithing trade. In 1837, he started a company that is now known as an international powerhouse.

He first started with producing a plow with a broken saw blade, seeing that farmers in New England struggled to rebuild the heavy, sticky grasslands with cast-iron plows for the light, sandy soil.

He continued with the production of the plow until 1843, when he teamed up with Leonard Andrus to produce more plows and meet growing demand.

5 years later, John Deere broke up its partnership with Andrus and moved the company to Moline, Illinois, which resulted in the increase in the production of plows.

For instance, from 1848 to 1850, about 1,600 plows were made, and the company soon made other tools to supplement its steel plow.

In 1858 Deere transferred the company's leadership to his son Charles, who served as vice president.

The company slogan, "nothing runs like a Deere," was quite popular years back. John Deere company has a long legacy in the field of heavy equipment manufacturing. This is evidenced in the fact that John Deere mowers are a household name.

The company is committed to providing consumers with the finest tools they need to accomplish farming and gardening tasks.

Although, most often than not, the name John Deere is associated with the brand’s tractor. But don’t be perturbed; John Deere Mower is a force to reckon with in the field of lawnmowers.

So yes, it is normal to see the company’s different products everywhere – in farms, sheds, garages, forests, and construction sites. The term ‘John Deere’ is associated with strong, durable machines.

In fact, most buyers of John Deere products do not bother to read reviews online before purchasing any of their products. This signifies the high level of trust and acceptance the product has garnered in the market.

This is not surprising because the company has been around for nearly two centuries and has acquired a solid following.

Now that we have established that John Deere mowers are solid products that have the public’s loyalty. You might still be skeptical if all the hype the company gets holds any merit.

There are certain factors that point out that John Deere mowers are worth the hype; first, this product won’t have survived nearly two centuries if they don't have anything good to offer.

Secondly, a quick search online will reveal that John Deere Mowers are totally worth the hype. And lastly, the fact that John Deere’s mowers are practically found everywhere confirms that its mowers are a solid brand that you can rely on.
